About

Hope Harbour offers one‑to‑one, non‑clinical emotional and practical support for adults who are navigating difficult moments.

Some days, support looks like having someone sit with you and help you breathe again. Other days, it looks like practical help — getting back into routines, working out next steps, accessing community groups or having someone alongside you as you attend appointments.

We are here to help you get the right support, and empower you to navigate your recovery.

Our mission

To offer a steady, supportive space for people navigating difficult moments — combining compassionate listening with practical, real‑life support, so that no one has to face it alone.

Our values

Warmth and respect
You’ll be met with kindness, dignity, and no judgement.

Listening first
We don’t rush you, fix you, or push an agenda. We start with what matters to you, and we take things at your pace.

Practical support that meets real life
Support can include routines, appointments, next steps, and navigating what help exists — not just talking, but helping life feel more manageable again.

Clear boundaries and safety
Hope Harbour is non‑clinical. We don’t provide therapy, counselling, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis intervention. We work within clear boundaries, with safeguarding and confidentiality in place.

Access for everyone
Hope Harbour is free to access. If you’re able, you can choose to make a voluntary “pay what you can” contribution to help keep the project going — but there is never any pressure, and no one is treated differently based on payment.

What to expect

We’ll start with a gentle conversation about what’s been going on for you and what kind of support might feel helpful right now. There’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to — we’ll take things at your pace.

Support can happen in different ways, depending on what works best for you. This might be by phone (calls or texts), in a community setting, or, where appropriate and agreed, in your own home.

Recovery looks different for everyone. Some people find they only need support for a few weeks, while others benefit from having someone alongside them for longer. Our aim is to encourage and empower you with the tools, confidence, and support you need to live well, so we generally offer support for up to 6 months, but can discuss this as we go.

Hope Harbour is for adults, and we currently support people in parts of East and West Suffolk.

You’re always in control — you can pause or stop support at any time.

A note on urgent support

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or needs urgent help, Hope Harbour isn’t the right service in that moment - please call 111 'mental health' option, or 999.

We will always encourage access to the right urgent or specialist support when needed.
